How to set default location for new items on desktop

I need to move all icons,files,folders on desktop to the right side _ i think it's more convernient (since i set conky windows on left sight),but when i do that,everytime i copy new file to desktop,it will locate on the left side-under conky window,so i cant access it.So how can i set default location for new item on desktop to right side? I have Linuxmint 14 xfce 32bit.
