[Solved] Linux Mint 15 XFCE Lock Screen not the same as 14

Postby mintystark on Tue Jul 16, 2013 3:33 am

Linux Mint 14 had a much better lock screen, but after installing 15 xfce's locks screen is back to the ugly XscreenSaver.
How can I get it back to the way it was in 14?

Thanks

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Ok, did some additional research and found out that xflock4 is the main controller for the lock screen xflock4 contains a list of applications that can lock the screen like xscreensaver, gnome screensaver, xlock, slock, etc. By default xscreensaver is first priority. So I just removed it.
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get remove xscreensaver

There are ways to change the priority, but some of them get overwritten by updates.

I realy don't like or ever want XscreenSaver on any of my systems.
So i just deleted it.

Now it is working like it did in LM xfce 14.
