Running Mint 15 xfce edition. Wondering if there is any way to set a default user for the startup/login screen.

As it stands at the moment, I have to click on/type in my username first and then give my password. In all previous versions of linux I've used, it has generally assumed me as the default user unless stated otherwise, and I usually only have to provide my password to get by.

This is especially annoying since I'm the only user on the computer, so it's obviously going to be me logging in.

Has also led to some embarrassing situations as I've typed my password in for the username in front of other people, and they've seen my password, etc.

instead of clicking on your user - press the up arrow, then type your user name then press enter. you just logged in


If you want to log in automatically - from menu>settings>Login Menu - Security tab = Enable Automatic login and select your user.

remember to change your password again, and don't use an embarassing one this time.
