Hey guys,
I'm running a Linux XFCE install, and I have a major problem I can't solve. About once a day, my computer will suddenly start lagging really badly and then freeze, forcing me to do a hard shutdown. How do I even begin troubleshooting something like this? As you can imagine, it's quite frustrating
Thanks!
Rudi

I would try to think of any application that is "jamming" your machine. Open up a terminal and type "top" and let that window be visible. It's one more process running, but in theory it shouldn't be much.
When your computer crawls, look at the terminal and see if something is eating up your cpu or memory. If so, you need to kill a process.
