Clem says he'll be testing XFCE CE soon.
If he doesn't find anything to stop it it'll be sent to the mirrors soon.
Re: Felicia XFCE CE UPDATE
for all those with munchies for xfce 6 and can't contain themselves any longer, the RC1 has popped up on one of the mirrors. Once again thanks Merlwiz and Clem

Shouldn't be a problem if you download it early.clem wrote:I moved DEV 027 towards the mirrors. It's going to be released as RC1 early next week.

Re: Felicia XFCE CE UPDATE
1. Thank you for Elyssa XFCE - the distro that finally broke me of my lazy OS habit (I should have switched to Linux 15 years ago when I got a Windows machine but the MS GUI killed my interest in computers, but this has renewed my interest.)
2. Is there a rough estimate of the final release of Felicia XFCE CE? i.e. two weeks, a month, two months? I only ask because I'm too damn excited and impatient and keep checking 1-5 times a day "Is it here yet? Is it here yet?".
3. Thank you!!!
4. I apologize for not having the skills, time, or interest currently to help develop.
5. Thank you!!!

Re: Felicia XFCE CE UPDATE
Well I hope by the end of next week.
It's not like anyone has control over it though.
The testing takes a long time and Exploder and Clem have to test it.
I hope by Monday to have at least finish the testing on my pc and upload the iso.
Then It's up to them to test it when they have time.
If you have the bandwidth you can help seed the iso.
Post new suggest in that part of the forums.
If you have the cash you can donate a few bucks to help keep the servers up.
Keep testing new Release Candidates, even if it's just the live cd.
As soon as this release is finished, I'll help on the KDE and Fluxbox releases.
While adding packages to the community repo.

Re: Felicia XFCE CE UPDATE
Thanks for responding, and extra thanks for the quick response.
My bandwidth is terrible...but my work has great bandwidth and a Windows machine that sits almost entirely unused that could probably be set up to do that
I also lack cash and time to do testing at the current moment, but I'm very focused on setting up profitable businesses. If I do well I think finances will be the best way for me to contribute. I'm also a harsh critic and will keep detailed notes/suggested/feedback on Felicia XFCE and post them periodically.
Thanks again! and thanks for the suggestions.

Re: Felicia XFCE CE UPDATE
Ok I added the missing packages that cause most of the bugs.
The live cd is now 698MB after I removed the cdrom repo.
I think Gloria will need some massive changes.
After this release I'll create some polls on what I could be changed.
I'll rebuild another iso and run through our check sheet.
Once I've done that and it passes I'll upload it for Exploder and Clem to test.

Re: Felicia XFCE CE UPDATE
Ok I am testing what I hope to be the final.
Currently testing in a vm with only 192MB of RAM.
Yep it installed just fine, It just took a long time.

Re: Felicia XFCE CE UPDATE
There was some delays but I finally uploaded an iso for the team to test.
It's 697MB so we need to work on slimming this down for Gloria.

Happy to see everyone is still kicking
Looking forward to this release ...

Re: Felicia XFCE CE UPDATE
Ok a few bugs were found and I have fixed them.
I'll be uploading the next iso for the team to test sometime today.
All current bug fixes can be applied to the RC, by enabling the Community Repo and downloading the XFCE packages.
Then disable the Community repo if desired.

Re: Felicia XFCE CE UPDATE
Hey your not suppose to find that yet.
The Release notes haven't been updated that's why you haven't seen the Announcement.
Once the Announcement has been made me and clem will start seeding the torrent.
I have over 1.5Mbps upload so it should be ok even at the beginning.
