FBI: We need wiretap-ready Web sites -- now

CNET learns the FBI is quietly pushing its plan to force surveillance backdoors on social networks, VoIP, and Web e-mail providers, and is asking Internet companies not to oppose a law making those backdoors mandatory. [1]

It appears 'Gone with the Wind' are the days of a mere illusion the US/UK/Europe/Israeli Govs might be back-dooring Western closed source software and popular well used major websites and social media Internet centers. Now the nay sayers find out not only is this apparently common place, demanded and allegedly 'Constitutionally Lawful', government PR is spinning this as

" The FBI is asking Internet companies not to oppose a controversial proposal that would require firms, including Microsoft, Facebook, Yahoo, and Google, to build in backdoors for government surveillance. " [1]

First, the FBI doesn't ask any major ISP nor Internet or Software Firm to 'not oppose a US Federal Law', the FBI however allegedly routinely extorts, blackmails, threatens and if those methods of persuasion prove to be non-effective given such FBI pleasantry's, the FBI then moves in and shuts down that business with the full weight of the US Dept. of Justice backing their illegal search, seizures forcing the defendants to prove in federal courts why anything seized should be returned or released back to them which can and often does prove to be very hard in a corrupt US Federal Court of Law run by the very agency trying to harass and convict you or your company.

Such legislation appears to be a grave invasion of personal privacy rights of US Citizens and any global citizen who uses American software, or a major US website, Internet service. With one fail swoop such draconian extremist laws diminish the perceived inherent 'worth' of any and all closed source US/West based software or US/Western Internet providers which could easily been seen as back-doored, tainted and a open invitation to placing a wire tap on your device, computer, web camera.

While I salute the open disclosure 'of bugs and wiretaps, backdoors included' which makes it some much more difficult for the few deniers in the Linux Mint Community and elsewhere that previously put forth the image they were entirely unable to even accept such horrific invasions of US Citizens privacys were taking place. NOW, knowing a piece of USA closed source software is likely backdoored in accordance with the new US law and in fact contains a digital 'bug', vs buying a non-USA piece of software whose non-western nation has no such police state laws is likely to win the majority of clients and customers.

Conclusion and Personal Thoughts:

Intelligent Computer users leading a virtual exodus away from tainted USA ISPs, Software and Social Media Hubs with the resulting financial losses might have some lasting impact on this police state legislation however such would only matter in a Democracy which is truly representative which America no longer appears to be operating under.

Forcing USA Software developers, providers to have backdoors, wiretaps and bugs built into their products entirely appears to come from a Totalitarianism regime masquerading under the mere guise of a Democracy led by representatives of the American people that in no fashion would a US citizens majority approve such privacy invasions and inherent loss of their intellectual products worth on the domestic and global markets.

Facebook Backdoor Interception: FBI wants P2P and social media wiretap-friendly

The US is preparing to face FBI-drafted legislation enabling it to monitor any personal communication activities in the web. It aims to use preset backdoors in social networks, online messaging, Internet telephony and even Xbox gaming servers. [1]

Yes, that press release states 'FBI-drafted' legislation! Let the attack dogs in the FBI write the laws, openly stated and openly announced.

Personal Reflection,Comment:

While it was previously rumoured and privately discussed the non-elected US Department of Justice members had written and crafted a decade long wish list now known as 'The Patriot Act' Laws, having the Obama administrations attack dogs in the FBI craft such legislation to force upon elected US Representatives and then down the throats of the US Citizens entirely appears to be a callous and shameless display of Totalitarianism that is no longer even pretending to masquerade as a Democracy.
