Intel will not support Linux on its Clover Trail processors

Intel didn't want to address why, specifically, it won't support Linux, but it did explain that the operating system needs to "hint" the processor about power states, and that Linux didn't support these. This is, of course, all smoke and mirrors; Intel could easily detail the specifications so Linux can add support for it. 1
It appears the Linux Community is stuck between a brutal tug o' war between Microsoft and the Android software development centers. Eventually Linux Distro development teams will likely learn/figure out the missing CPU signals which the Clover Trail CPU's apparently require to function properly, for a commercial entity such as Android directly or a commercial Android application developer a work around might be much more difficult to obtain much less make money from the public with.

I have no doubt the push for CPU's to not function on non-Microsoft OS, comes directly from various under the table agreements with Intel's backdoor teams. Perhaps this opens the door for AMD to show the world seeking newer more capable CPU's how to ethically go forward as it seems Intel has lost the way, it's conscious and likely many of its new upgrade users. The MicroSoft-Intel cabal is apparently attempting to make it impossible for OEMs to build Clover Trail machines for Android.

With Win-8 trying to lock out all other OS regardless of device or CPU, Linux Distro development teams should have been expecting this latest shoe to drop. Now it appears those fears and concerns are well founded. Eventually a Linux Distro development team will figure out sending the Clover Trail CPU's the expected power states signals, however questions will certainly remain if the cabal of MicroSoft and Intel continues then work arounds will likely become more unstable and difficult to run alternative non-Win-X partitions and OS on that CPU/Device.

Also covered in some more detail on Phoronix: Intel Shafting Linux Users With Clover Trail: No Support. The problem is Intel again includes Imagination's PowerVR GPU into the CPU, instead of using it's own designs. Imagination has a long history of hating Linux. Let's just boycott them.

Edit: There is the same problem with CedarView and Cedar Trail Atom's, as warned earlier here: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 1&p=625555

Edit: Oops, didn't realize that intel project name was for tablet and mobile devises. Still very obnoxious of intel to try to use its position of privilege to hurt the market by causing another M$ monopoly and producing yet another OS shortage in a fledging industry.
