Need a better graphics card

Postby notthenewsreader on Sat Oct 13, 2012 3:05 pm

Hi everyone. I hope somebody can help me

I am looking for a better graphics card than the one I have at present (Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS). I don't want to spend too much but I'm looking for something a little beefier that works well (preferably perfectly) on Linux Mint 13 MATE. Can anyone suggest one please?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I just replaced an Nvidia 6200LE with an EVGA GT430 that I'm quite happy with. It was about $70 new. Didn't require an upgraded power supply or anything like that.

I've been using a Nvidia GT 240. It's not a super card, but for a desktop it works perfectly.

Here are a few links I found that may be helpful:

Here's one link for the GT430, which I'm happy with, although it's not meant for gaming. For every day use it's been very good. I have this EVGA card.
