Linux (SOC) Power Management

Post by bandaru_sivakrishna »

Hi All,

As i am working a consultant in firmware department for one of the semiconductor organization, now they are developing Cortex -a9 based controller. In past i have worked on arm low level drivers ,now i am dealing Linux SOC power management.I have some queries regarding LInux SOC power management.

Basically i am new to this power management module,

1.In what way Linux kernel controlling different SOC based power saving states 2.How to interact the SOC power states using Linux kernel power management. 3.What are the device driver hooks for the soc power management. 4.While developing power management subsystem framework for new soc, what are the areas we have to concentrate.

Thanks & Regards,
Siva Krishna.

This is a support forum for Linux Mint, a Linux distro targeting primarly desktop users. Linux Mint currently doesn't support ARM architecture. I'm not sure how you ended up asking this question here :) Perhaps somebody here can help, but I'd think you would have a better chance asking this on a Linux ARM developer forum or mailing list. If you can't find any try http://www.linuxquestions.org.
