i've been using linux for about a year sometime late last month and i've been wondering where am i on the learning curve
i can dual boot
if i want to do anything from the commandline i grab a guide
i don't usually see too many terms that make me run to google anymore
i don't compile things
am i behind or ahead where i ought to be

you are exactly where you should be, there is no stage you should be at by a certain time, everyone learns at their own pace, but it sounds like you have learnt to be sensible with Linux and are continuing to learn well
