So I just installed Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon and got it setup. I thought this would be the perfect time to do so as my main reason for staying on windows was steam. Also I have just got a stable job so now is the time to buy new hardware :-)!

My question is, what SSD should I be buying, is there any recommendations or something I should completely avoid when buying for linux? Im looking for something in the 200 dollar, 150 euro, 130 pound range, preferbly less. I've been looking at this: http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=661337#extra I know it's in Danish, but all the info should be there. Also Im on a dell xps 8300 desktop and my motherboard is a Dell 0y2mrg.

Regards
Linthdk

That will work with your computer, and should work fine with Linux. I have an older generation Intel SSD, works fine. Usually I read up on reviews about storage devices on StorageReview.com and they have this one reviewed recently also: http://www.storagereview.com/intel_ssd_520_review. Seems like a good choice.

I made a SSD optimization post a while back, might be useful: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 03#p461796.
