Novel Writing Software: Plume Creator

Postby Matt4179 on Fri Oct 11, 2013 9:20 pm

For those that like to write, are writers, or are looking forward to the next NaNoWriMo, I wanted to share an awesome app that is on the rise: Plume Creator. After switching back to Linux after a short stint trying the New Windows   I found that I needed to do something with all that I had done with Scrivener. I contacted Scrivener and wanted to know If I could switch my app key to Linux when it left the Beta stage. However, they informed me that there would be no "official" version for Linux, only the Betas. For some that is cool, for me...well, I wanted to go back open source. So I hunted. I remembered seeing an article in OMGUbuntu, I think, over a year ago about this app and tried it out but shunned it at first. But over the last year, it has grown to be, in my opinion (I admit I'm biased but check for yourself), to be one of the best writing apps I have seen. And it's getting better. So, if you are looking for a good writing app, check it out.

Thanks for the info. I'm not a big fan of writing software though. A simple word processing program is the only thing I might need.
Another program I've heard of is yWriter5 : http://www.spacejock.com/yWriter5.html
I've never tried it myself and it might not be like Scrivener, but according to the author, it works in linux using Wine.
