Hi,
This is NOT a Linux problem.
I have a Thompson 716v5 WL voip router. Try as I might, I am not able to access the PSTN or receive PSTN or VOIP calls. I am able to make VOIP calls out. I have tried every combination of cables, plugs, ring adaptors and 7 different phones - without any luck. I have also tried the more usual key combinations to pick up the PSTN without any luck. Can anyone point me to where I might be able to answer my problems. Thompson's information seems to be very thin in this area - lots about internet connections and wireless, but virtually nothing about VOIP/SIP. Has anyone tried this VOIP capable router. My previous sip box died and I decided to get a router with VOIP to reduce the number of transformers, boxes and general clutter. I also want to make more room to get my HF equipment back into use.

Re: PSTN line access problems through SIP router
If my memory serves me right I had a Thompson router (could be another brand though) that drove me nuts....
You may have to play with the firewall in the router - in my case it meant editing IPtables ... arrgh
