The only thing which I don't like in Linux is...Wine! It is fine for some ordinary Windows programs or even simple games but this unicorns dsound and dmusic problems makes me crazy (I want this because Im relying on this sounds for my in-house maded games). The Wine team is working hard but why on the Mac drivers??? And because of this I decided that I will try some Windows versions (2000 - 7). Not bad but after the unsuccessful install of Windows 2000 I received one strange and very bad error - "Not valid partition table". This stupid thing almost destroyed my HDD. Thanksfully on my left hand I hold the Ubuntu USB. And the Winblows story ends here...
Windows 7 SP1 - ~600 MB RAM usage, 10~15 % processor usage
Windows Vista SP2 - ~800 MB RAM usage, 8~12 % processor usage
Windows XP SP3 - ~380 MB RAM usage, 5~10 % processor usage
Windows 2000 SP4 - ~50 MB RAM usage, 1~3 % processor usage
Linux - you know from your experience.
PS: I hope that Wine's sound emulation will get better.
