What made Google so great was its no-nonsense search engine - simple, effective, and no obtrusive/distracting advertising. The same held true for the gmail service.
With all the new services on Google+ I think they've lost it and are on a downhill path. Copying their competition is exactly what Google shouldn't
do. And yet they are now employing the same stupid, annoying spam and advertising practices that made their former competitors loose the game. A pity.
