True story, though I may not have the exact quotes (it was a long time ago)

While providing phone support for WinXP

ME: So when did this issue start
Customer: It's been a while, and I've been able to work around the issue by shaking the computer a little bit now and then. But it's getting alot worse now.
Me: So how often do you have to shake the computer to make the problem go away?
Customer: Oh, once or twice a day.
Me: I think you need to take the computer in to a local technician
Customer: Really? I didn't think it was that serious.

No more Windows and Gates since Ubuntu 8.04, used 9.04, 10.04, then switched to Kubuntu because of Unity and Gnome 3.
After that it is Mint, used 9 till 17 all in KDE version and loving it.
