How to disable popups

Hi,
recently when I visit some blogs or other websites i get lots of popups. I disabled pop-ups in firefox and I use adblock plus. What else should i do? It annoys me so much when entire site goes grey and Im forced to subscribe to something...

I used to have these but I disabled them a while ago because they often blocked the features i wanted to see/use.
So i guess one cant have both user friendliness and blocking ads and privacy... It seems it is either-or :/
