Hi I was wondering if the new GPLv3 would affect LinuxMint?
I was reading this:

What can I say... I hope Kevin Carmony's interpretation of the license is wrong (let's all hope it is wrong). Maybe some lawyer can tell us about that. The last time I read it I thought it was good but again I'm not particularly good at understanding legislation...

Let's just do our thing, as best as we can, the way we think is right, and let other people study that kind of things. I'm not saying legislation is not important, I'm not trying to undermine the work done by the FSF, but I'm not going to waste time on something I'm not good at.

As far as I'm concerned I didn't see any issue with GPLv3. And if there was I'm sure the community would be fast enough to react.

Don't forget who's holding the wheel here: not the FSF, not the patent owners, not the developers, not any country's legislation.... but the users.

And it's quite clear to me that a vast majority of users want to be able to use their computer exactly the way they want. You can't force people in the long run, not the FSF, not legislation, not anyone. People do what they want.

So to summarize: I don't think the GPLv3 is a risk, maybe I didn't read it correctly. If it is I have no doubt the community will be quick to ditch it. So whatever happens, don't worry, that shouldn't impact us.
