Helloooo Minty Folks!

Postby vtel57 on Thu Jun 07, 2007 12:50 am

I just d-loaded and installed Mint on my multi-OS system today. Very impressive! I had to make a few tweaks here and there, but I think I have it the way I want it now. I registered here tonight to gain some insight and also, possibly, to help a few folks out.

Be seeing y'all around... :)

Thanks, folks! It's on the system and running. Once I get a little more familiar with it, I'll be popping in here more often, I'm sure. I just finished installing Vector and Zenwalk on my system. I have to get in there and tweak those up a bit too.

I'm running seven distros on my system these days. I've tried many, but seem to be most comfortable and happy with the Debian-based and Slackware-based distros. Currently using:

Ubuntu 6.06.1, Debian 4.0, Mint 3.0, Vector 5.8, Slackware 11.0, Mepis 6.5, and Zenwalk 4.6.1.

:)

By the way, some folks at another forum (Scot's Newsletter Forums - All Things Linux) where I hang out were raving about a wallpaper I modified for Mint, using The Gimp. Here's a screenshot of my Mint:

And here's the wallpaper itself, should anyone want it:

Linux Mint Rocks!

It's guaranteed to scare roaches and other critters out of your computer room (possibly even your wife) while it's displayed on your monitor. ;)

Have FUN! :)

Hey bigbear! :D

Yup! I am a forum junkie... have been since waaaaay back in my USENET days. ;)

I've been so busy with Vector and Zen, that I haven't been able to get back to Mint. The good thing is that Mint was very quick and easy to set up. I did it all in one sitting. Vector and Zen gave me some headaches, but I got past most of those, too. I haven't had much time to get to LGU either, lately. I just went by there tonight and posted a quickie post.

See ya' there...
