Hello!

First post, I really like the vibe here.

I am not exactly new to Linux, I have, for want of a better term, farted around with a few distros over the years, but I always ended going back to Window$ eventually, Linux was just not able to do everything I needed it to. Or, I should say, I couldn't make Linux do what I needed it to.

But that was a few years ago. Then about three weeks ago on a whim I installed Ubuntu 7.04 on my notebook. Then on my desktop. Now I'm spending most of my time in Linux.

There have been some very big improvements in the few years since I left! Back then, setting up a printer was an all day task (at least for me), with Ubuntu it took all of two minutes!

I traveled across country and was able to log on to WiFi in two different airports effortlessly!

This kind of stuff just didn't happen before!

But now I started hearing about a distro that's even better than Ubuntu, based on Ubuntu. And so here I am.

My experience with the live CD was impressive enough, this weekend I'm installing Mint on my notebook!

It's useful to hear about the reasons why somebody comes to Linux MInt;
and encouraging to see that many former Linux difficulties have been resolved.
I myself, Nelamvr6, am still using Windows because I can't set up my scanner to work with any Linux distribution.

Anyway, glad to have you aboard the Mint wagon.

oh thank you! I really appreciate it! I see my blog on Mint Planet and I wonder what the other Mint users would be thinking when I make non-Linux related posts

Sometimes I think of letting clem in on that little secret but it's nice to see ~200 hits a week out of which the Mint community plays no small part

I think I owe you guys an update on those two blog posts I did eons ago... I'm thinking Celena or Daryna?... hmmm... we'll see time allowing.
