And thanks to everyone for the last month or so during which time I've learned more and more about Linux and pc's in general, as well as Mint on these forums.
Also, thanks for the recent postings on drive formatting, I finally understand logical partitions (just don't ask me any questions...)

This evening I waved bye-bye to Windows xp. MInt Bea is now sitting nicely in it's place.

Would you believe as I took a final look, xp froze...no loss there then.

Here's to 2007.

Great Job Guys!

I have been looking for this distro for a while, and thanks to my previous Linux experience with SuSE 9.0 through 10.2, and Ubuntu dapper Dapper, and Edgy, I am glad I found you. Everything works!

And, I run 3D, and Beryl off my notebook!

BTW, how can I remove both "Computer", and "Home" from my Desktop?

Adler: run gconf-editor and make a search (key/value) for "computer".. you'll find a key called computer_visible or something like that.. and the similar "home" key will be in the same place.

Actually, don't mind the gconf editor.. there's a totally new way to do this in Linux Mint: install mintDesktop 1.1 and have fun with it

This may seem silly, but I wiped out my /Home taskar Icon, and came back to this post.

I'm glad that I saved (bookmarked) it -- meanwhile rocking along with Bianca!
