Sorry about your loss.
Nontheless ... as you know we're a forum dedicated to our own distribution of the GNU/Linux operating system. Also: most of our forum members here are from "only God knows where" but not exactly your corner of the world.
So in the interest of those poor animals ... wouldn't it be better if you posted your message in a more appropriate forum, e.g. search a 'pet forum' (e.g. via Google) or something like that and then post your message there?
Thanks

What a terrible thing to say. This man is looking for help here, and this is your response? Chinese restaurants are only interested in cats. The dogs, however, could be sold to medical research facilities. Or even a cosmetics company.scorp123 wrote: Or ask your local Chinese restaurant ....
(just kidding, sorry .... just couldn't resist )
Oh man ... and I had a bad conscience after what I wrote.red-e-made wrote: Chinese restaurants are only interested in cats. The dogs, however, could be sold to medical research facilities. Or even a cosmetics company.
Ok, folks ... let's stop with the sarcasm, OK? Don't forget he lost a family member, so jokes probably aren't really appropriate here ....

In all seriousness, the animals can be given to shelters who specify that they take care of the animals until someone adopts them, and will not euthanize animals unless completely feral and/or incurably diseased. There are a number of shelters like this - you just have to ask.scorp123 wrote:Don't forget he lost a family member
Hopefully this suggestion will help you, Dadster, and also help counterbalance the karma I brought on myself with the medical research remark.
The original message said that his step-father, after long sickness, had passed away. And that his death was not a surprise to the family, that there was enough time to say good-bye. It seems though that they now have many 'surplus' pets (cats + dogs) and in the original posting he asked if anyone here would be interested to take one or two. The problem here is that we are pretty much quite 'international' here and from all corners of the world. So in the best interest of those animals others and myself suggested that he should try other means of finding new owners.hairy_Palms wrote:this topic confuses me.
And to Dadster: Again sorry about our silly remarks up there ... sometimes childishness takes control and we make remarks that --upon second look-- are not so bright and not "funny" at all. Again: sorry bout that. Nobody here meant to be cruel towards you. I hope you find a solution that works out well for you and your pets.
