Hi,

Anyone out there recently purchased a Shuttle PC desktop specifically for linux?

If so, any advice would be welcome.

Regards,

Dyfi

just my curiosity: what is the advantage of such a PC ?

Nowadays, you can run linux even at your vaccum cleaner.

Hi,

Small form factor is the main attraction. Space is a priority with the proposed installation/purchase.

After tea will borrow the neighbours vacuum cleaner and see how far I progress!

Dyfi.

Shuttle has several models which generically class as desktops. Which model(s) are you considering?
Mint-21.0 Mate 64 bit / LMDE-5 64 bit
Gigabyte H370M D3H
Intel G3258
Crucial Ballistic Sport 32GB DDR4 2400
8TB HDD Seagate Baracuda 5400rpm

Not sure what type of question this is. Have you ever seen a Shuttle XPC? http://us.shuttle.com/Models.aspx

They pretty much started the standard for smaller sized PCs. No longer as impressive as they were as many OEM manufacturers provide small PCs based around mobile CPUs, etc.

Well, they are still the only way to have a VERY small PC with a full sized 3D graphics card.
