Ἐπίκουρος will have to wait for Plato to kick the bucket.
Poor Socrates found peace at last. He could never take his wife's nagging.
One day Xanthipi, his spouse, kept yelling at him for an hour: "You lazy bum!
why don't you go and find a job. All the time, blah, blah, blah and no money"!
So, since the poor fellow couldn't take it any more, he ran down the stairs, out the door,and stopped on the sidewalk. He murmured a few things looking back.
Xanthipi, came to the balcony with a bucket of cold water. She dumped it on poor Socrates yelling "go to hell, you bum!"
Socrates looked up and said: " Well, after thunderbolts you can only expect showers"
