Hello,
I'm a noob to Linux, and must say I love it. My decision was made since I have four PC's here online, and they needed upgrading from 98se. Well, the salesman was a big help, he was willing to sell me a copy of XP or Vista, for each machine!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, thanks for the financial slaughter on my bank account, but no thanks!!!!! I love this distro, everything works, and most importantly, my Quake3 graphics and game play are better than ever!!!! oks, im done babbling :P

Yes Zone!
Anybody can come here for a virtual Mint cocktail and get a virtual answer to his problem. :)
No one will blame you here for being a 'noob' with a 'noobie' question.
This place is for relaxation mostly. We sit in the Virtual Lounge shooting the bull, and some times some guy will tell us a story for laughs. :)

Here's to your health!
PS. What are your booze preferences, BTW? We are trying to enrich our MintMenu

Cool

Awesome,
I'm off for a few weeks so this will give me something to do. :P
On Quake3:
I wasn't just "pampering an ego" , Quake 3 really DOES play faster, smoother and with better graphics, (Nvidia Believer Here)
I;m a regular Joe PC user for the one at home, some games, some word documents, and allot of surfing, so all the browser functions, and plug ins work perfectly on this.
Desktop:
This just plain rules in my eyes, as it;s user friendly environment, options and packages available.
FTP:
I run a game server for Quake 3, so this distro gets alot of attention from fellow Quakers looking for solutions as well. I use the FREE FTP software to make changes and access the server.
Accessories:
Everything works!!!! My camera, my usb gaming mouse, my usb quick pad, everything. :) and I didn't need a "driver disc" !!!!!
My Complements and Thanks!!!!!

Sincerely,
Zone

Over all, this is the most impressive OS i have seen, everything works!!!!!! Without have to use "bubble gum and duct tape" like Windows.

Ubuntu is very popular but I see a very active Debian community.
There is a group of about 30 people that have been translating Ubuntu packages.

I installed Bianca in Greek on a test disc and I was surprised to see how well the Ubuntu packages, and of course Bianca, have been translated.

I went to the Linux Forums>Greek and posted to introduce the Mint.
DSL prices are the reason that many people don't have an Internet connection yet, but recent ISP price competition will change the situation.
In spite of all, there are over a million and a half Internet users.

Best Regards, and a big Yassou :)

Thank you, npap
Well, good news about linux and bad news about DSL prices.
Well the ISP competition will change the situation radically. The same thing happened in France. So dont worry about this. And people will have more information about linux.
