Re: What oses yall running?
On my desktop my main os is Mint 13 KDE 64bit dual booted with Mint 13 mate 64 bit
On my laptop I dual boot Zorin OS latest (I forget the number) 32 bit and windows 7 home premium (which never gets used)
In my music studio Windows XP with Cakewalk Sonar 8 pro. That one isn't connected to the internet so I don't have to use anti-virus
or anti-spyware. All it does is run my audio software.

Waste of space. All you need to do is either sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop (but on squeeze it's sudo apt-get install kde), or sudo apt-get install mate-desktop-environment.On my desktop my main os is Mint 13 KDE 64bit dual booted with Mint 13 mate 64 bit
Re: What oses yall running?
I'm mostly an LXDE person using PeppermintOS, but I also like KDE. I think Linux Mint 13 KDE is great. Currently I am enjoying the unofficial LMDE KDE done by Schoelje in this thread. Give it a try. It's terrific.
Re: What oses yall running?
I have 750 gigs of space on two hdd One is for my main os which is Mint KDE. The other is for playing with other distros or versions. It just happenedsagirfahmid3 wrote:Waste of space. to be Mint 13 mate. Now it's already been replaced with SolusOS. My space is never wasted.

On my netbook: Zorin 5.2 core with Gnome Lay-out. Removed lower panel added dock down for applications, left side dock with the maps (Pinguy like), replaced the standard menu with Mint menu. Looks good, works fine and it's fast!!
Re: What oses yall running?
UPDATE: I can't get SolusOS off of my computer fast enough. I couldn't find one thing impressiver about it. Installed twice, the first time
it froze and choked during updates and wouldn't even boot afterwards. The second time, it updated fine but it took two tries to boot after
installing nvidia drivers, then no sound. Never did get any sound. I'm a patient man...for about an hour, then it's gone.

Sorry you had those issues. I am running Solus and had no issues whatsoever installing it. I use sgfxi for graphics instead of using the first run wizard but I believe that is going to be changed in Solus 2. I have no complaints whatsoever so far
Re: What oses yall running?
Well the graphics thing was just a minor issue, more of an annoyance as it worked fine on the second boot. The real issue was sound. I use a SB Audigy which was recognised
in the sound settings and everything appeared to be set right, but I never did get any sound. Maybe I'm just too used to Mint and everything working as it should.

Re: What oses yall running?
I have 5 drives installed in a big tower case so I regularly try all kinds of stuff. But I have kept Mint on 1 drive always. It is my preferred OS too. I have Win7 on my 1st drive which is a 2TB Seagate SATA 7200 RPM drive. The other 4 drives are Seagate 500G SATA 7200 RPM. 2nd drive is Linux Mint 13 KDE, 3rd is Kubuntu 12.04 , 4th is FreeBSD 9, 5th is Mageia 2. I have an Intel brand motherboard with a 3GHz Pentium 4 and 4G of RAM. My Graphics card is an Nvidia GT520 with 1GB RAM. I have a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. I also have a 1920 x1080 23" LCD monitor. I have a dual boot on my laptop too with Win7 and Mint 13 KDE.

Re: What oses yall running?
I'm running Swift Linux upgraded to testing with various desktops (xfce, lxde, kde, gnome shell, all on separate installs), I'm running Windows (which I always run) and I'm trying lots of Xfce distros on my external hard drive.
Re: What oses yall running?
I am running Ubuntu 12.04 x64, Linux Mint Cinnamon x64 and PCLinuxOS KDE right now and enjoying them all. I am thinking about trying out the latest OpenSuse KDE release too because I have read some very positive reviews on it. I am seeing so much good work lately! Unity, Cinnamon and KDE are progressing so well and graphics drivers are looking good in nearly every current release. It is great to see so much quality work out there! Heck, even Windows 8 seems to be doing alright for some people. Really nice that there is something good for everyone no matter what OS or desktop environment you like! Any comments or opinions on OpenSuse 12.2 KDE would be appreciated. I see that OpenSuse has a solution in place for the new secure boot that new systems have, I am sure that that is good news for people buying new systems. Things are really looking good right now!

Re: What oses yall running?
Currently running:
Old Dell Desktop.
-SolusOS 1.2
-Linux Mint 13 MATE
Main Desktop (shared with wife)
-Windows 7
-Linux Mint 14 KDE 64
I actually prefer SolusOS 1.2 right now to Mint Mate on the older machine (slightly quicker for the older hardware). I'm very much looking forward to giving SolusOS 2 a try once it's eventually released.
I'm enjoying Mint 14 KDE on my quad-core desktop, but haven't used it much due to an issue that renders "sleep" useless. Machine eventually goes to sleep, but the display is all crazy when it wakes up, never to recover until a hard reset. I sleep my machine daily, so this is a game stopper. Maybe someday when I have some time, I'll dig into it, but being an amateur linux user, these things tend to take me a while to work out. But it's my first opportunity to see a more visually stimulating distro run on a capable computer, and I like it. Always before I've used small distros running on older machines.

Re: What oses yall running?
On my Dell XPS 15 laptop, I'm running:
SolydX 64-bit tracking Debian Testing
SolydK 64-bit tracking SolydXK Testing
Debian Testing 64-bit
On my old Gateway Desktop:
SolydX 32-bit tracking Debian Sid
Arch Linux 32-bit
I'm planning on adding a few OSs soon once I get my partitioning scheme worked out, so I'll probably add a Mint partition (and a few other partitions) shortly.
