My belief is that "enforceability" is the real issue.

The copyright holder has to not only economically gain but they have to economically gain enough to afford to enforce.

I do not believe Java can be copyrighted anymore than the English language can be copyrighted.

As far as Microsoft is concerned, after learning Linux Mint and discovering how far Linux has come to user friendly:

I believe Microsoft can no longer compete in the OS market.

Apple has their proprietary Linux kernal based OS and it only exists to keep a hold on their hardware products.

I believe Linux as a whole is now in an era of Renaissance.

Yes, but the way the corporations and getting the government to rewrite the laws and make it criminal and not civil, with tax dolors they will be able it enforce what they would not be normally willing/able to enforce civilly.
