Problems with Google Chrome

Postby Myself on Wed Apr 11, 2012 1:15 pm

I have been having terrible trouble logging-in on one social network site for the past week, getting only error 500, using Google Chrome or Chromium but Firefox 10 & 11, Iceweasel 13, and Midori all worked okay. Well, except for today when I had problems with all of them over a nornal direct connection via my ISP. So I used Tor to see if I could get to see the site's front page with any browser and found I could and that I could log-in, log-out, and log-in and out, over and over, without problem using all except... ...Google Chrome.

I posted a notification of my problem via Tor and later found I could see the sites's front page using Chrome without an error 500 and log-in via direct connection via my ISP. 15 minutes later I was back to the error 500 in Chrome but firefox and other were working fine. Weird!

OK, so you identify it as a browser issue, have you tried contacting Ghrome support forums and inquired.

They might not have much support as yet, but they (Google) are obviously interested in providing the product, so that will likely change over time..

The 500 series errors..

Code: Select all
error 500 google chrome issues

--my search query, there are some workarounds for 500errors, depends on what the issue is: that is what you are doing with the browser, when the error happens
--language, translations and text search are some of the problems identified..

Been in contact with Google several times but nothing is resolved. Not been on their forum - Thanks that the links.
Also been in contact with the website in question fr days but no reply from them.

This evening though the problem is occurring in every browser and it's now worse in Firefox/Iceweasel and Midori.
Can log-in but within a few minutes everything becomes frozen and eventually all I get is a white page.
Reloading still gives a white page.
Have to close browser (which is set to delete hookies, cistory etc., ) and restart and then only get a few minutes again.
But if I use Tor and Firefox, but not Iceweasel (only blank page at the web address - weird!), I can log-in and stay on-line which means the problem is somewhere in the middle, as in my ISP (which on checking in Duckduckgo I find has a history of site blocking - that is apart from the one site they legally have to block).
The joys of life in a supposedly open and free society.
My health insurance is refusing to pay for medicine I need and I'm very tired today and in lots of pain so cannot spend much time on this.

The links came in useful.

Made a nuisance of myself today with complaints, and even had to embarrass a political party, not know for being racist, by revealing some of their racist attitudes, and this evening I have no issues with connection to the social network site in question.
Embarrassment works best!
