Dual GPU and 3 monitors

Current setup:
EVGA GeForce gt520 (2GB) on PCI-Express with two DVI monitors
EVGA GeForce 6200 (512mb) on PCI-1 with single VGA monitor

Could not get it to work in Ubuntu 11.10 with Unity. (aside: I really do not like Unity)
Installed XFCE and after some tweaking of xorg.conf all three monitors are playing nicely. I had a fourth monitor connected and all was well but it was just too much so I went to 3.

So although I have all three monitors, I do not like the lack of eye candy in XFCE. Specifically, I cannot enable Compiz to get wobbly windows. That, and the font rending is poor and overall the experience is lacking.

Does anyone have experience with dual GPUs and three or four monitor sets in Mint 12?
