ATI Fan Speed Control

Ive got a ATI 4870 1gb graphics card and Ive just installed MInt for the first time. Its great so far but my graphics card fan is running at 100% all the time and its freaking loud! If I cant resolve it then its back to windows unfortunately

Ive googled and looked on here without much luck. I read about installing Thinkfan, which I did but after installing I couldnt find it on my system?

So can anyone help me control this fan? Thanks
