Right half of screen is darker than left

I've just installed Linux Mint 14 MATE on my Lenovo X200, and am encountering a strange issue with the right half of the display being noticeably darker than the left half. I thought this may be a hardware issue, however the problem does not occur when I boot into Windows. I'd appreciate some help to fix this...
