Nvidia driver failed installation and...missing Cinnamon!

Postby pandalinux on Sun Mar 24, 2013 12:54 pm

Hello: I have a KJ52C Asus Notebook, with I3, 3GB Ram, with Intel HD graphics and Nvidia 310M. I've tryed to activate Nvidia settings, it failed (perhaps the "hybrid" video system is the explanation...), restarting with a "minimized display (640x480)" ; and the only solution that I've encountered, is deleting the content of /etc/X11/xorg.conf. I've restored full-display but...Cinnamon is lost! All the panel settings and menu, was replaced by another configuration, supose basic Gnome... I've reinstalled some packages, but the console says: alex@alex-K52Jc ~ $ cinnamon
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".

(cinnamon:3741): Clutter-CRITICAL **: Unable to initialize Clutter: Failed to connected to any renderer:
XServer appears to lack required GLX support
Window manager error: Unable to initialize Clutter.

Please, help! I loved my Cinnamon!

I think that this new info is usefull: alex@alex-K52Jc ~ $ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 12)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [GeForce 310M] (rev a2)
