Hi,
My laptop which has a NVIDIA graphics card using Optimus (GeForce GT 640M LE) has a problem with switching between the two modes in Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon. The new graphics switching applet that should have been added in 17.2 has been missing, even after I made a clean install of it back in early July. When I tried to switch the cards using nvidia-settings, it shows a blank error message and failed to switch to discrete graphics. Now I tried to install prime-indicator, but while its logo shows that I'm using the NVIDIA card, right click on it shows that I'm on the Intel card and switching attempts were made with no response.
What should I do such that I can enable the usage of my NVIDIA card?

Try installing the nvidia-352 driver by means of the graphics-drivers PPA:

(item 1, left column)
Afterwards, reboot.

Re: Applet for switch between Intel and NVIDIA graphics miss
Any suggestions as to how I should re-install the graphics card drivers?
