what brand is my video card"

Post by geezuslvr »

I'm using Lucid

1.) What program do I use to find out what video card I'm using?
2.) Where do I find my video configuration file? /etc/X11/xconfig doesn't exist.

Thanks a whole bunch for your help

1. In terminal, try

Code: Select all

lspci | grep -i vga
2. Usually /etc/X11/xorg.conf - but with the later releases of Ubuntu/Mint, one isn't created by default anymore.

Thank You... I have a Radeon...My graphics card fan quit working so I installed another video card, afterwards; things weren't working anymore.

So where does Isadora keep her Xorg.conf ?

There isn't one.

If one is required you have to manually create it.

Please don't shoot the messenger.
