Hi
Need some tips. Fairly new to Linux. Run Linux Mint 11. Nvidia driver version 173rd
Dialog box says that this driver is enabled but is currently not in use.
A little weird. what could be the basis for this.
Thank you for the tip.

Perhaps a restart is required. Sometimes one will need to run

Code: Select all

nvidia-config
or maybe even

Code: Select all

sudo nvidia-settings

You can also use the experimental driver if the official one does not work.

If you want to try it, please uninstall the official driver and reboot.
Mint 11: Then open 'Additional Drivers' from the menu (Administration). It will list the experimental driver and you can install it.
Mint 10: Install libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental from the repository.
Mint 9: Please upgrade if you want to try the driver.

Then reboot and it should be working.
