Web Browser Choices

I want to get a lightweight web browser as a secondary browser for when I don't need to use the extra bells and whistles that sometimes i have with firefox. I'm hoping that i can get around quicker online for more casual web surfing. Another key attribute is one that won't collect data on my web activites. Not talking about browser history. Things like internet usage, statistics, etc. I just really put a high value on my personal privacy.

Short Version: Any reccomendations for a lightweight web broser that doesn't gather user stats.

The few light ones I know:
Chrome/Chrome variants (?gathers user info?)
Safari
Seamonky

here"s a couple:
Chromium- Browser available in repository - open source chrome. not data mining as far as I know
Midori - very light and fast , may be unstable at times. available in repository.

You can try Opera but I'm not sure how lightweight it is. You can also have a look at Startpage search engine if privacy is very important. :)

I'd recommend Midori. I've never tried Epiphany (the gnome browser), but it seems from screen shots to be pretty simplistic.

Most popular browsers have Do Not Track Option.

Opera has it. dont know about other browser.

Opera consumes less RAM when minimized. Midori is lightweight than Opera.
