Language

Postby martijn-konijn on Tue Dec 19, 2006 6:07 am

Being somewhat lazy I'm thrilled about Mint. Entering the color internets' world of sound and vision without the pain other distros might put one through to get all of it working has been a wonderful experience so far. Thank you for that.

There might be one minor bummer, however. Upon install, choosing a non-English language I'm used to Ubuntu installing 3rd party software (e.g. OpenOffice and the Gimp) in the preferred language. Of course I might have missed something, but Mint doesn't seem to do this: all software is English.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

martijn, if you are installing bea, by default, it will only install english language in the beta version. you can finish off with the installation and then install the necessary language pack that you need.

or you can wait for the final release.

hope this helps.

Rlozano,

thanks for your kind answer. I'll be happy to wait for the final release, glad to read this wasn't something forgotten in Mint.
