strange machine name on lan

I just ssh'ed into my LMDE box and noticed it was saying that I last connected using chakra.lan. Now NO machine on my lan is called chakra, so I went investigating and it appears to be my MInt 11 box that is calling itself this even though that is not its hostname.

How/why is this happening?

Did you install the Linux distro named 'Chakra' on some computer on the network?

Some routers, e.g. Thompson or Speedtouch, remember an old name of a computer and sometimes continue using that name.

Nope this is live now, it has the same ip as this machine

So I have no idea where this is coming from, this is a fresh install of Mint 11.
Only other active machine on the lan is the LMDE one.

The router shows it as duo active not chakra.

If it's a wireless network then looks like someone is on your network.
