Since Ubuntu's plan is to go the way of the tablet is Mint to follow?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Don't think they are going to move exclusively to Tablet, but they are planning on making Ubuntu compatible with them.
Which means that Mint will be too.

Ubuntu = Mint (except Mint is way better). Whatever gets upgraded in Ubuntu also gets upgraded in Mint; Mint uses Ubuntu's repository.

Not really sure.

(1) Mint might become Debian-based instead of Ubuntu-based
(2) I believe Mint will have to use Unity as well (you can always install it yourself, though) to be compatible with tablets
