<SOLVED>Differences in mint versuions

Postby marsh20 on Thu Jan 19, 2012 9:40 am

Is there a simple explanation as to the differences between each of the mint versions ie. KDE, LMDE main etc?

Think about the "undo" before you "do".

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

The differences are many and varied. Too many to cover in a simple forum post. Read the release notes and release announcements for each version and google the different desktop managers (Gnome, KDE, LXDE, Xfce, Fluxbox) and code bases (Ubuntu and Debian) and you will begin to see the differences.

The best way to see the differences is to download each version and run the live desktops to compare them.

Aged,

Many thanks. Not a simple answer then. Just a matter of taste and what you want from an OS. "Suck it and see" as we say over here.
