I thought we had put this one to sleep a few times already!
1: Ubuntu has many more users than Mint and garners much more traffic on the web (outside a certain niche website dedicated to linux distros).
2: The Mint page is the most visited on Distrowatch but keep in mind Mint only has one page for the main edition and all the iterations whereas Ubuntu has separate pages for the main edition, lubuntu, kubuntu, xubuntu etc.
Mint is great, that's all ye need know and care for - it's not a popularity contest
