Antivirus programs with Wine.

What if you're running WINE? Is an anti virus program needed?

It is best to start a new thread rather than add posts to 5 year old topics :)

BTW I think the answer to your question is yes, Wine runs windows executables and dll's so they can be affected by windows viruses. However they are very unlikely to transmit any infection to your Linux system although they could conceivably move onto Windows if you have a dual boot system (but then why would you need Wine?).
