If you are fully aware of the risk in doing so and want to take it, then I imagine a "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" would do it, but I haven't tried it, the failure percentage is just too high, see this recent poll on an ubuntu fan blog: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/05/how- ... e-go-poll/
- only a less than 50% chance of success. Doing a clean install is not so much more time consuming than doing an upgrade and remains the best way to jump from version to version.
