How will the Linspire Canonical (Ubuntu) partnership effect Mint (or will it) ?

Very good question. If CNR is found to be a good solution that can bring us something then we'll leave it. Otherwise we'll get rid of it. And if we really like it we'll try to talk to Linspire to see if we can get them to make something directly for us.

In any case it means more choices so it's very good news.

Steve George, Canonical's director of support and services, says that Canonical is in talks with other vendors, and says, "I think you'll see some announcements next week about other people using us as a platform."

Looks like Ubuntu is making waves in the Linux world.

Good news! I like this idea as at Linspire-Freespire there are many good programs and drivers for example Wi Fi in laptom ACER 3000 does not work in Ubuntu,Mint,Mandriva, and when I shall start in Live mode with Freespire, Wi Fi works well and my card grafic SIS 760 works perfectly! Image It is not pleasant to one me that Linspire-Freespire it KDE :lol:
