Mint 11virus ?

I am a recent user of Linux Mint 11, and I am surprised to meet some troubles that was more likely to be met on Window.
Is there any Linux soft for 11mint, which plays as an anti-virus soft ?
I know I have been assaulted , by virus means, yet without too much results. But I want to know how we can protect against this kind of noxious germs .
