Is there a LM 14 expected out any time soon

Postby obscenelyappropriate on Mon Jul 16, 2012 2:12 pm

Some of you may remember my issue with linux mint 8. Well, i have a job now and soon i'm going to buy myself a new laptop and some sort of bootable device I can use to install Mint 13. But first I just want to make sure I'm not about to install 13 right before 14 comes out. So is 14 expected any time?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

There are 6 months roughly between main LM releases, the next one is due october/november.

Mint often comes out after Ubuntu for 1 - 2 months. The next Ubuntu version is 12.10, which will be released in October, so I think Mint 14 will be released in November - December.

I've had variable issues with each build, and have skipped one as the instability of LM12 drove me crazy. I recently installed LM13 and my laptop is stable and works just fine. You may like to try LM13 and keep a copy, just in case LM14 doesn't work so well on that new laptop.
