Choosing Linux Mint for an HP TX2 SmartTouch laptop

Post by tristam »

I finally decided upon Linux Mint 13/Xfce for installation to a USB stick, due to its superior device detection. It didn't detect everything, but for now it'll do.

I did an informal testing of 11 distros, and scored them based on various performance criteria. If anyone is interested, see

for the article.

Hi tristam,

A wee response to your article.

For automatic rotation see Magick Rotation.

Like the TX2000 and TX2500 one or more of the bezel buttons on the TX2z have never worked. Some progress was made recently, see the Tablet PC Rotation HOW TO. Miscellaneous notes and appendix 2 etc.
