I just overwrote Ubuntu on my desktop, it is off-line and I needed all the goodies to make it work, I have now got what I want considering the need to read the partition with XPuke and DVD play. My experience with Ubuntu is mature enough not to come here begging for help but my confusion is why so many people are having issues with installation. I had some weirdness with Gparted not reading the hdd at all, I rebooted and there it was. I was so confident with Bianca that I installed it without trying it . Nice work!!
