smartphone with Mint

I want a smartphone, the Palm Treo 650 is about right but sync software for Windows or Mac so what to do ?

I exchange files and stuff with between my iPAQ rx5935 Pocket PC and my Linux box via BlueTooth ... Or I use ActiveSync from inside VMware. Works also. My PocketPC has WLAN so I can access GoogleMail and other web-based front-ends to my mail accounts and calendars directly via my Opera web browser (which I bought extra ... MSIE stinks).
