Just incase nobody has checked this before (why would they !) I have a wallwart power usage monitor. On idle desktop my CPU is idle at 34w but if i logout to MDM with the animated blue KDE and Cinnamon Green wallpaper (HTML animated) the power usage is 101W
so anyone who is sitting at the login screen on Mint isnt at idle or anywhere near in fact they are near max TDP
